The German Irish folk rock band "Rabies" has just relaunched their website www.rabies-online.de. After a tough testing procedure Mambo has won the inofficial "best-CMS-for-our-needs"-cup.
With a growing community of fans and an ageing website dating back to 1999, Rabies saw themselves confronted with the urgent need for a decent relaunch. As only one of them was capable of updating the (static) news section, the decision was made to look for a content management system in order to enable every member of the band to provide the community with news, concert photos and - er - stuff.
They found Mambo to be the perfect choice as it's both powerful and easy to use. Not only does it give the "editors" the opportunity to edit the website from the frontend, it also enables the band to make use of a members section with several nice features such as a board, a gig list and a central entry point for further pieces of information (address database, web statistics, ...).
Besides the latest stable release 4.5.2 they used the great components mosCE, Guestbook, LoudMouth and RSGallery (so far, there's much more to explore). The page layout is a unique creation based entirely on CSS. As CSS-styling and accessibilty are a great concern for the band, they are looking forward to the next release of Mambo which is said to support CSS design even better (and to provide a german backend).
